Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the recommendation of the Ministry of Education, Turnbull School will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. We continue to monitor information from Ottawa Public Health and the Ontario Government and are currently planning for a September start to the 2020-2021 school year. These plans will include some restrictions and recommendations from health experts to keep our school community safe. More detailed information will be provided in a timely manner.
Turnbull School continues to provide a high quality, Distance Education program to all students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. This program includes virtual classroom sessions, offline assignments and activities in all core subjects, as well as weekly activities in physical activity, music and visual arts.
During this difficult time, our goal is to provide meaningful learning opportunities for students, covering important concepts from each grade level curriculum, in as manageable and stress free an environment as possible, while keeping the needs of the whole child in mind.
On Tuesday, May 19, the Ontario Government announced that summer schools and day camps may run in July and August with social distancing and recommendations from Ottawa Public Health in place.
