The ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic has caused all of us to make changes to how we conduct ourselves in daily life. We have made many prudent changes to our procedures, school facilities and schedules, which have helped to create a safer, more nurturing and enjoyable environment for the students and staff. Mask wearing, social distancing and frequent hand washing/sanitizing have formed the basis of the many enhancements put in place to help combat the spread of this virus. Although the vast majority of our students attend school in-person each day, a few families have opted for their children to “Learn from Home”. These children receive live-streaming of their academic classes throughout the week. Opportunities for these students to connect with their teachers and classmates have also been made to help build rapport and ensure curriculum expectations are being met.
Turnbull School is well prepared for the 2021-2022 academic year. Many of the restrictions and changes made for the wellbeing of our students and staff continue to be in place. We are taking a cautious approach, with the goal of bringing back more activities and events during the course of the school year. We continue to seek guidance and support from Ottawa Public Health and the government of Ontario for the most up to date COVID-19 safety requirements and protocols.
